Paula B. Holtzclaw
AWAM, ASMA, WAOW, NOAPS, PAP-SE
Paula’s paintings have been displayed in many national juried exhibitions, a few of which are the Oil Painters of America, American Impressionist Society, the Scottsdale Salon of Fine Art, and the International Marine Art Exhibition at Mystic Seaport. Museum venues include the Gilcrease Museum, Booth Western Art Museum as well as the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum. Having received notable awards from American Women Artists, National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society and Women Artists of the West, Paula maintains that her most prized reward comes from creating and the very act of painting itself. Her lifelong love of the Eastern Coastline, particularly the Carolina Lowcountry, figures prominently in so many of her paintings. Paula was a finalist in American Artist Magazine's 2012, 2010 and 2009 Cover Competitions. SouthWest Art Magazine featured Paula and her studio in the “My World” section of their September 2011 issue. She was named one of Southwest Art Magazine’s “21 over 31” artists to know in November 2010, also as one to collect by Southwest Art, July 2009.
Paula resides in a small North Carolina community just south of Charlotte (where the horses outnumber the people) with her husband Chuck, and constant companion Timber, her “Velcro” Golden Retriever.
Paula is a Master Member of American Women Artists, Signature Member of The American Society of Marine Artists, The National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society, WPSE and Women Artists of the West. She is a member by invitation of PAP-SE, Plein Air Painters of the South East. Paula also is an associate member of Oil Painters of America, and the California Art Club.
