MARY O. SMITH - Death Trumpet - 20x10" - $1,500.             Painting available for pre-sale - Remaining through end of the show

Mary O. Smith received her Bachelor of Design in 1982 from Louisiana State University. All through college she continued to develop her drawing style. After graduating, she worked as an interior designer for an architectural firm in Valdosta, Georgia. With her loose, quick drawing style, her talents were also used to create architectural renderings to help convey preliminary ideas to clients. In 1994, she took watercolor lessons and fell in love with the medium. She began studying with plein-air watercolorists where she discovered her love of painting on location. She paints from her own studio in Woodbine, Ga. when not out painting on location. She teaches workshops

in oil and watercolor for organizations and art groups in Georgia and Florida. Fueling her love of plein air painting, she has sponsored official Oil Painters of America Paint Outs in Georgia and Florida in 2015 and 2016 to paint and meet wonderful artists.

Mary O. has been featured in Watercolor Magic in articles as “Ones to Watch” in 2002and “Ten Artists to Watch” in 2006. She is a signature member of the Georgia Watercolor Society and the Tallahassee Watercolor Society. She is honored to be an invited member of Plein Air Painters of the Southeast, First Coast Plein Air Painters and Georgia Coastal Artists Guild. She has won many awards for her watercolor and oil paintings from national juried art shows. She won an Honorable Mention in the Southern Watercolor Society’s Annual Show 2015. In 2015 and 2016, she has had the honor to participate in prestigious plein-air events such as The Lighthouse Event in Tequesta, Florida and the Albin Polasek Paint Out in Winter Park, Florida.
