Doreen J. St. John "Spring Beauty" 12x16" $1,400.
Since the early 1980's, St.John exhibited her work in juried outdoor art shows, was represented in several galleries in Ohio, conducted workshops, and won numerous awards, including “Best in Show” for her watercolor and mixed media paintings. After several years away from painting to pursue a Master’s degree in Administrative Leadership, she joined the Ohio Plein Air Society in 2005 and started painting again, inspired by her love of nature and painting outdoors. In 2010, St.John retired from her education career and was able to devote more time to her art, concentrating on works in oil and, more recently, pastel. Her frequent travels in the United States and abroad provide a wealth of inspiration for her plein air and studio works, as well as painting the figure and portraits from life as time permits. St. John is a Signature Member of the American Impressionist Society and the Pastel Society of America. She is a Board Member of the American Impressionist Society and the Ohio Plein Air Society, where she also serves as Secretary, and an Associate Member of other national art organizations. She has been juried into highly competitive National shows for both her oil and pastel paintings over the past 4 years. She is represented by Castle Gallery of Fine Art in Fort Wayne, Indiana; the Eisele Gallery of Fine Art in Cincinnati, Ohio; and Turner Studio & Gallery in Columbus, Ohio.
