Christopher E. Groves
color theory II & THE ABSTRACT
Sept 28, 2026 - Dec 7, 2026
every other Monday
9am - 11:00am
Location: Virtually
Tuition: $695
(full payment required to register)
This virtual workshop continues the exploration begun in Color Theory I virtual workshop. We will take all the ideas, principles, and theories introduced in the first color class and apply them directly to painting techniques through demonstrations and guided practice in an abstract format.
While the workshop will still include lectures and critiques, the majority of the class will focus on demonstrations of abstract paintings ranging from small studies to larger compositions. Emphasis will be placed on application, mark-making, and process–all grounded in color theory knowledge and the fundamental elements of abstraction.
Although taking the first Color Theory class is not required, familiarity with those concepts will certainly be helpful as we explore the painting process and the foundational principles behind abstract work.
