General Information

for

studio workshops

Registration:

  • Registration is available online through www.andersonfineartgallery.com/workshops or call the gallery: 919.634.8414 and we will take your information and provide you with additional details.
  • A 50% deposit is required at the time of registration and the balance is due 30 days in advance of the workshop.

Cancellation:

  • Should it be necessary to cancel your registration before the final balance is paid, your deposit will be refunded minus $100. However, if you choose, we will hold your deposit (for one year) as a credit towards another workshop by the artist of your choice.
  • 30 days before the start of the workshop, we will send a reminder that the balance is due, and once paid, the fee is non-refundable unless we are able to fill your place in the workshop, in which case you will receive a refund minus $100.

What to Expect:

  • The evening before the beginning date of the workshop, the gallery will host a casual meet and greet, giving you the opportunity to meet your fellow students and the instructor. This is also a good time to unload your supplies at the Studio (unless it's a plein air workshop) so you are ready for the morning start. Everyone is invited to an early dinner at a near-by restaurant. Everyone pays their own check.
  • Workshop size is generally limited to 10-12 students.
  • Class begins at 9am and adjourns at 4pm, unless otherwise noted.
  • Lunches can be ordered in advance through the gallery from the Sea Island Market. A menu selection will be sent to you to make your selections. The cost of lunches is not included in the workshop price.

Getting Here:

  • St. Simons Island is located half way between Jacksonville, FL, and Savannah, GA, and is served by Delta Air Lines connecting in Atlanta and into Brunswick, GA. However, most people fly into Jacksonville or Savannah and pick up a rental car. The Island is about 1.5 hours drive time from both airports.

Lodging:

  • Upon registration we will provide you with housing suggestions. St. Simons is a busy resort island and we strongly suggest making your hotel reservations immediately. There are many wonderful resorts, hotels, and rentals available, as well as great golf. Many husbands accompany their wives and golf while "the artists" in the family paints. The Island is only 14 miles long, so nothing is too far away. We can send you some housing suggestions.
