IMPRESSIONISM AT SUNRISE & SUNSET: COLOR & TECHNIQUE
April 8, 2027 - April 10, 2027
daily
9 - 4pm
Location: Studio
Tuition: $695
(full payment required to register)
This class will explore painting sunrise and sunset scenes, with a particular focus on the color and techniques used during the Impressionism movement. Beginning with lectures on color theory, students will learn how to select an intentional palette and create loose brushstrokes and "broken color" in order to capture the fleeting effects of light, movement, and the enhancement of optical mixing. How to convert incorrect colors from a photography by understanding prismatic color along with examining the differences of a sunrise and sunset will also be heavily discussed and demonstrated.
A small, medium, and larger size sunrise/sunset painting will be demonstrated throughout the three days. Please bring your own print out or digital image reference materials to paint from.
