Join acclaimed artist Margaret Dyer for an inspirational three-day workshop exploring traditional oil and pastel painting techniques. Students will work from both a live model and photographs taken during a 30-minute in-class photo session of the model. Throughout the workshop, students will develop their skills in drawing, composition, proportion, value, color, and medium application. Special emphasis will be placed on creating convincing form through the effective use of light and shadow.
Margaret's approachable, step-by-step teaching method makes complex concepts easy to understand. Whether you're struggling with color, looking to paint more loosely and confidently, or simply wanting to strengthen your figure painting skills, this workshop offers practical techniques that can immediately improve your work.
No prior pastel experience is required. Some drawing experience is helpful but not necessary.

Margaret has won major awards in the American Impressionist Society and National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society exhibitions. She is a Master Pastelist with the Pastel Society of America and is in the Masters Circle of International Association of Pastel Societies. Her work has been featured in:
