SYMPLIFYING COMPOSITION & COLOR

Mar 4, 2027 - Mar 6, 2027

daily

9 - 4pm

Location: Studio

Tuition: $650

(full payment required to register)

Do you struggle with how to simplify your compositions and color? Learn how to design and create the feeling you want in your paintings while on location or from photographic references.

We will explore the use of sketches to develop a composition, learn how to determine the correct values and colors and how to translate that all into a painting. Knowing how to interpret that information and use it correctly will be the focus of this 3-day workshop. We will also discuss painting on location to achieve paintings that resonate with your collectors.

As artists we are creating works of art rather than just rending what is in front of us. Hopefully, by the end of the workshop you will have a clearer understanding of how to make those works of art from your material. After all, seeing like an artist is what it is all about!
