From the sun dappled paths that weave throughout St. Simons Island, Ga, you will paint in what feels like another world.
A meet & greet reception the night before will kick off the start of a fun and very special workshop – a combination of studio and plein air where we will focus on edges. Starting in the studio with some targeted exercises, we will then go outside and practice making our edges have variety and flow. All aspects of plein air painting will be covered including working with a simplified palette, editing a complicated scene, and capturing the light and atmosphere. Lunches are delivered daily to our painting site, so we don't lose a minute of valuable painting time.
Nancy Tankersley, leader of the modern plein air movement, will be your instructor for this workshop that promises to be fun and exciting. Nancy is one of the founders of the Plein Air Easton started in 2005 and will serve as the Awards Judge for the 20th Anniversary. She was recently recognized as a Living Master by Fine Art Connoisseur Magazine (October 2023). We are honored to have Nancy as your instructor.
Please join us. Don't miss the opportunity to paint with Nancy Tankersley.
